ANDERSON Family History
This interesting surname is of English and Scottish origin, and is a patronymic of the surname Andrew, which is derived from the personal name from the Greek "Andreas", a derivative of "andreios", manly, from "aner", man, male. This was the name of the first of Jesus Christ's disciples, and it is also the name of the patron saint of both Scotland and Russia. The personal name was first recorded as "Andreas" in the Domesday Book of 1086, and the surname was first recorded in Scotland with one John Andree, who was present at the perambulation of the boundaries of Kyrknes and Louchor in 1395...Select Audience

Carole J. Bennett LaBrie
Hi! This is very exciting for me because there is so much I do not know about my fathjerโs family. My great grandmotherโs name is Martha Anderson & she was born in Glasgow, Scotland in the 1880โs I believe. She came to the USA & settled in Nashua, New Hampshire & married Robert Bennett who is my great grandfather & lived in Manchester, New Hampshire. He had a construction company with his son Ray John Bennett(my grandfather) in Manchester. Philip Ray Bennett was my fatherโs name & born in Bellows Falls, Vt. When his mother (my grandmother), Marguerite Willard Bennett was visiting friends in Vermont when she went into premature labor & my father was born 12/29/1917. They returned to Manchester, New Hampshire where they lived until 1919. My grandfather, Ray John Bennett died of the Spanish Flu Pandemic on 2/12/1919, when my father was 13months old. My grandmother eventually moved back to Chester, Vermont to live near her friends & was a school teacher. She eventually married a man named John Clark who was a freelance carpenter & worked in construction until his retirement. My grandmother, Marguerite Willard was born illegitimate & put in an orphanage @ birth until the age of 12. At the age of 12 a woman came to the orphanage & took my grandmother to live with her & taught Marguerite to be a teacher which was her profession until she became disabled. Her name was Grace Wiley but everyone called her โGrandma Wileyโ.
I would truly love to know everything about my fatherโs family & ancestors so if any of this sounds familiar, please contact me @ โnanalabrie@icloud.com. I have given all the dates or approximate dates that I have. I am the only surviving Anderson/Bennett from my fatherโs lineage. All my siblings are gone along with my parents but I would love to get as much knowledge as possible to put in a book for my nieces & nephews & my children & grandchildren so they can keep the family heritage intact to pass to their children & grandchildren. Sincerely, Carole J.Bennett LaBrie

Part 1 of 3) The Anderson name can be found in the British Isles, but one of its origins according to DNA is from the north-west coast of the Emerald Island. One Anderson story [dominated by DNA tribal marker R1b-L513, Subgroup A1] can trace their origins to the Finn Valley in Donegal, Ireland from 50 BCE. Perhaps the journey begins with the Clanna Dedad; Deda, son of Sen or Deda Mac Sin. This Anderson surname origin is from a Northern Ui Neill [R1b-L513] tribe. The Cenรฉl Eoghan and the tribes of Donegal conquered much of Ulster (Derry and Tyrone).

(Part 2 of 3) Cenรฉl Eoghan will expand across northern Ireland with their cousins Cenรฉl Conaill and the Northern Ui Neill between 500-800 BCE. The clans of Finn Valley have the same DNA as people from Gwynedd in Brittany. But how could this be? Recent discoveries from DNA testing are unlocking the migration patterns of Celtic tribes as late as 800 CE to 1200 CE. The Anderson story begins in pre-history Ireland then moves to Scotland as they form part of the Dalriada. Descendants of their tribe will then travel to Brittany, France during the Dark Ages.

(Part 3 of 3) Discover their newly found untold story and how forgotten texts bring their story back to life. From the ebook, โThe Tribe Withinโ learn how DNA unfolds this amazing tale and if you look in the right places, how history narrates this evidence. There is another written account of their story, but it is camouflaged in smoke and myth โ it will become the tales of King Arthur.
